Follow Traffic Rules – You are at Construction Site

Each year within the construction industry, several people die as a result of being struck by vehicles on site. Transportation incidents and workers struck by vehicles or mobile equipment account for the highest number of fatal work injuries.

There must be a traffic control plan for the movement of vehicles in areas where there are also workers conducting other tasks. Drivers, workers on foot, and pedestrians must be able to see and understand the routes they are to follow.

Driving Safely

  • Wear Seat belt (driver and all passengers).
  • Hands off your phone while driving.
  • Do not drive at speed more than the speed limit.
  • Keep your line, do not overtake the other car inside construction site.
  • Drive cautiously. Look out for others.
  • Do not drive when tired.
  • Park your vehicle properly without obstructing others/emergency facilities/exits.

  • Wear Motorcycle helmet (rider and passenger).
  • Do not ride at speed more than speed limit.
  • Keep your line, do not zigzag between cars.
  • Do not ride on wrong side of the road.
  • Do not ride when tired.
  • Park your vehicle properly without obstructing others/emergency facilities/exits.

Pedestrian Safety

  • Before crossing the road, think about whether an approaching driver can see you.
  • Never assume that an approaching vehicle will stop for you.
  • If no footpath is available, walk facing the oncoming traffic and keep as far to the right or left side as possible
  • Do no walk on upper and lower basements as the visibility is very low.
  • Cross the road at pedestrian (zebra) crossings if one is available.
  • Children should hold an adult’s hand on the footpath, in the parking basement or when crossing the road.

Stay Safe. Don’t look the other way.
